Should have picked up the boys

I get an email from Jamison yesterday letting me know that he and Tyler would not be attending church if I wasn't able to make it home before hand. Apparently, Jamison and Tyler didn't have such a great day. I failed to get the details due to my own personal struggle, but it had something to do with not getting a good afternoon nap two days in a row.

I was really trying to finish up a project at work so I could have a little extra time on Thursday to pack for Disney World so I just went straight to church after work. Well I really should have went home to get the boys first. I ended up getting my first ticket. Of course I am not counting the ticket that I got for my car wreck. I had not been speeding, but I did have a headlight out.

Jamison could not believe that I didn't get a warning since this was my first offense. I am assuming that Business was slow for the trooper that evening, and maybe he figured that he should give me a ticket after seeing that I had a pretty clean record. In addition, the trooper asked me if my headlight had been out for 90 days. I simply stated no, but this is the third time this year and I wanted to take it into the shop to be examined in the event that there is something wrong with the lamp. Does this not seem fairly justifiable and reasonable? I thought so since I really don't think that the headlights should go out more than once in a year if that.

I guess it was better that I get the ticket than Jamison or he would get dinged by the insurance company again! Jamison has joyously welcomed me to the Dark Side, but I don't like the dark side.

With all that said, since I was pulled over on the way home (5 minutes from my house) I didn't get to see Tyler before he went to bed. Jamison said that Tyler kept looking over his shoulder all night for me which really makes me sad.

My lesson learned is to be sure that your headlights are always good. You may even want to carry around extra bulbs (even though the light just went out last week) just in case there is a state trouper lurking. Also, I should always come home and get the boys before church if they had a bad day.

Ultimately, it turned out that my day was just as bad as the boys. Jamison decided to help me end the evening on a good note and gave me a foot massage.
